Samuel Carter Williams was born on October 7, 1939 in San Francisco, California and passed away peacefully, Tuesday, June 4, 2013 under hospice care at Nathan-Adelson in Las Vegas. Sam worked in the pari-mutuals his entire career in California (this includes all horse racing tracks statewide) ending his career at Hollywood Park after 30 years. As a young man, he was a pro-bowler and also served in the Navy. Sam's life-long passion was horse racing; but you would also find him enjoying a game of football and spending time with family and friends. Sam is survived by his wife Dianne and son Grant, daughter Kim and grandchildren Benjamin and Erin. Sam will be missed by all who knew him.
