Salvatore C. Morales Jr.

Salvatore “Sal” Colon Morales Jr., 39, social worker, passed away unexpectedly on Jan. 2, 2016. He was born March 11, 1976, in Worcester, Massachusetts. A graduate of North High School, he lettered in basketball. After high school he worked in a halfway house counseling drug addicts. Sal attended Worcester State College. Upon the suggestion of Derrick Mensah, Sal travelled to Las Vegas on Sept. 10, 2001 and was a resident for 15 years. Sal met Emily at a New Year’s Eve Party in 2002. After five months of dating Sal proposed to Emily Campbell and they were married on May 28, 2004. Sal emphasized his first ministry began with his family, he also served at his church, The Champion Center, in many ministries which included Bible Quiz, Operation Hope, Convoy of Hope, Food Boxes, Men’s Ministry, Worship Experience, ChampKids and Royal Rangers. Sal worked full time and attended UNLV, receiving his Bachelor’s degree in Social Work in 2013. He was a light-hearted man who would humble himself before the Lord. Sal was a colorful and fun-loving kind of guy who enjoyed bringing joy, humor and light to all situations. Sal loved all sports and would not discriminate against any sport. He was as wacky as all the cartoons he would watch and mimic. He was full of worthless information so that he would be the first one to call as your lifeline. However, God called Sal’s lifeline first. Sal was preceded in death by his brother, Andre. Sal is survived by his loving wife, of 11 years, Emily; 5 children, Isiah (16), Elijah (10), Josiah (6), Mariah (2) and Zakaryiah (10 mo.); his parents Yvonne Otoo and Salvatore Morales Sr.; his grandmother, Adelaiada; brothers, Allen, Luis, Jonathan, Michael and James; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and great nephews who adores him. Sal will be greatly missed by his family and close friends. Celebration of life will be live streamed at championlv.com at 10AM pst.
