December 12, 2003 - February 9, 2023
Ryder Don Colvin(Rydman), 19, of Las Vegas, Nevada passed away February 9, 2023 at Mesquite Motocross doing what he loved: riding his dirt bike. He was born to Lance and Monica Colvin on December 12, 2003. While Las Vegas was his home, he traveled all over the country racing dirt bikes. He made friends everywhere he went and unknowingly touched so many lives.
Ryder was home schooled starting in the eighth grade and went back to public school for his senior year where he graduated from Las Vegas High School in 2022. When he went back to public school he was the ‘new guy’ who knew everyone. He rekindled friendships from elementary and middle school and made so many new friends. Ryder was surrounded by so many people in his life that loved and appreciated his kind heart and his desire to be the best person he could be everyday.
In his short life he accomplished so many things. His goal in 2021 was to make the National Amateur Motocross Championship at Loretta Lynn’s, and he made it putting him in the top 100 motocross racers in his classes. He was published twice in Racer X magazine as part of the OnTrack School sports journalism program. He could get on a microphone and announce races treating every rider on the track like a pro who was battling to the end. When it came to sports he could rattle off stats and names of players in college and the pros. He loved the Dallas Cowboys and the Boston Celtics. His ultimate goal was to become a firefighter. He and a friend had the goal of getting in to the academy together.
He is survived by his parents who absolutely adored him, Lance and Monica Colvin, his G-Ma, Cynthia Davis and Grandpa, Mark(Moe) Brant of Durango CO, his Aunt Karen Colvin of Albuquerque, NM and his Uncle and Aunt, Colby and Sumiko Davis of Las Vegas, NV, his cousins Hayley(Nick) Brown of Little Elm, TX and Gary & Parker Davis of Las Vegas, NV, his girlfriend, Grace Sedillo, of Las Vegas, NV as well as by extended family and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by Marc and Joanne Colvin(grandparents) of Albuquerque, NM, Gary D. Davis(grandfather) of Alamogordo, NM, and Naida Carmichael(great grandmother) of Carlsbad, NM.
