Obituary: Ruth Cota Martinez, was born on Monday, July 4, 1927, and passed away, Thursday, November 21, 2019. There will be a viewing at Palm Mortuary at 7400 W. Cheyenne Avenue at 8:30 am on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 and her interment will be at 10:40 am, at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, Nevada.
She is survived by her husband, Edmond Morga Martinez, her daughter, Elizabeth Ann Schneider-Harness, her son, Edmund Patrick Martinez, three Grandchildren, Candace Garcia, Mathew Martinez and Andrew Schneider (deceased), three Great-grandchildren, Ayani Modina, Aubrie Martinez and Azaya Martinez.
Ruth was a resident of Las Vegas, Nevada since the early 1990's moving from Southern California. She prided herself on her work ethic, beginning at the age of 9, she delivered tortillas. She began working at Con Air during WWII and then started and ran a Mexican Food Restaurant in Costa Mesa, California for many years. After selling the Restaurant, she began working at Globe Ticket Sales and attended Real Estate School. After retiring from Globe Ticket Sales she moved to Las Vegas, however, that didn't stop her, she then proceeded to work for Costco and Albertson's in Las Vegas as a demonstrator showing off her vast cooking skills and personable attitude by being one of the highest in sales of her product demonstrations.
She loved her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was very strong in her Catholic faith.
