Rosalie Mae (Borowiak)Kaatz, 76, of Las Vegas, NV passed away to her heavenly home on Monday, July 19 2021. She was born on August 5, 1944, in Fairmont, MN to Sylvester and Pearl Borowiak. She graduated from Fairmont High School in 1962. On October 19, 1963, she married William “Bill” Kaatz.
Rosalie worked in various secretarial and bookkeeping positions as their family moved from Fairmont, Winona, Rochester to Lake Crystal, where they purchased the Red Owl store in 1975. Rosalie, Bill and their youngest child, Jill moved to Las Vegas, NV in 1986 to start a new adventure and enjoy warmer weather. Upon Bill’s sudden death in 1989, Rosalie and Jill remained in Las Vegas where she worked for the Dunes Hotel & Casino, Gates McDonald and Nevada State Bank.
Rosalie was a very fun loving, social person who got along with everyone she met and lit up a room with her smile and carefree spirit. She enjoyed time spent with family and friends and loved a good competitive game of scrabble, bridge or cribbage, along with playing Bingo.
In 1999 she met her longtime companion, Chuck Villalobos, while working for Gates McDonald. Together they enjoyed watching movies and listening to bands playing at various lounges.
As Rosie started losing her memory over the past 5 years, it frustrated her, but she still stayed happy and was able to make others laugh. Rosalie is going to be dearly missed, but not forgotten.
