Rizza Bautista Abrera was a person who always carried a strong sense of duty with her throughout her life. All who knew her would agree that Rizza was a pillar of the community and their lives. She had a strong work ethic, was pragmatic in her thoughts and acts, and constantly sought the means for self-improvement.
Rizza was born on January 12, 1985 in Manilla, Philippines to Myrna and Dennis Doney. She was raised in the Philippines and Las Vegas with her four brothers, Ricoh, Raniel, Ricardo, and Jeffrey; and two sisters, Rodalyn and Ricamyr. As a young girl, she was very active and loved playing outside with other kids, and also took part in soccer and football. She loved science in school and would even play with insects. She was a bright student, skipping 3rd grade, and earned her DARE Award.
After high school, where she attended Rancho and Eldorado, she began working as a cocktail server for over 10 years before following her passions and became a business owner. Rizza was a dreamer and wanted to achieve success in life. She was such a hard worker and people-pleaser that she gave everything she got, leaving almost nothing for herself.
One of Rizza’s greatest roles in life, though, was being a mother. She was blessed with four children, Bobby, Yreena, Ylani, and Star. She loved her cat, “Wis,” and also her pet “Bear,” both of whom she took care of for a number of years. Not only was she beloved by her family, but she had many close friends. Some of her best friends while growing up were Yreena, Charmaine, Lovely, Bev, and Carrisa. Later in life, she became friends with Kazandra, Rica, Ashley, Lovely, and Erez.
Outside of work, Rizza had a number of hobbies. Some of her favorite things to do were going shopping, cooking, and watching shows and movies. She often networked and pursued modeling while making a number of new connections. She also loved watching the Vegas Golden Knights play hockey. She was naturally curious about the world and wanted to see as much of it as she could. One of her favorite vacations was to the Bahamas. She was hoping to go to Paris, Italy, Greece, the Philippines, Fiji, and Bora Bora.
Rizza passed away on June 16, 2023 in Las Vegas. She is survived by her parents; her four kids; six siblings; nine nieces; and seven nephews. Services were held at Palm Southwest Mortuary and St. Sharbel Catholic Church. Rizza shared the best of herself for the benefit of others, so that they could accomplish more in their lives. She was a loving mother, sister, daughter, and friend, and she will always be remembered as someone whose compassion and strength brought out the best in the people that she loved.
