Richard Alan Wine, 82, of Henderson, NV, died Sunday, August 17, 2014, from complications of a stroke, with his family by his side. He was born to the late Jacob and Rae Wine on April 15, 1932, in Boston, MA. He received his B.S. from Northeastern University and worked as an electrical contractor at his own company, J & J Electrical Company. He served in the US Navy Reserves from 1951 - 1959. He was active in the Toastmasters and served as president of the National Electrical Contractors’ Association before his retirement. He was an avid distance runner and completed two New York Marathons. He also loved skiing, traveling, reading, writing, and cooking delicious desserts. In recent years, he enjoyed leadership roles in several social groups where he lived in Sun City Anthem including current events and “Anthem Authors.” He is survived by his children: Pamela Wine of Cambridge, MA; Robin and Kevin Wogalter, of Henderson, NV; and Jonathan and Gillian Wine, of Millis MA. “Papa” is also survived by six much-loved grandchildren: Tyler, Nikki, Corey, Abby, Sam, and Xela. He is also survived by his sister, Barbara Toll, of Boca Raton. Services will be held at 2:30 pm on Monday, August 18, 2014 at King David Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at the King David Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association.
