

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Phoebe Alaras Sampang, a devoted wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and nurse, who passed away on April 12, 2025 at the age of 50. She was born on February 21, 1975, in Misa District, Tagum City, Davao Del Norte, Philippines, to Adolfo Casilac Alaras and Emiliana Tolentino de Ocampo Alaras.
A Registered Nurse and Midwife, she earned her BSN and began her career in the Philippines at Davao Regional Hospital and Mercy Maternity Clinic. In the United States, she served in various healthcare settings including Lakewood Regional Medical Center, Summerlin Hospital Medical Center, Las Vegas Detention Center, Digestive Disease Specialists (Crimson GI Clinic), home health care, and most recently, working from home as a Medicare Appeals Representative with Livanta.
She is survived by her husband, Edward Caampued Sampang; mother, Emiliana Alaras; siblings, Grace and Carlo Alaras; sister-in-law, Jasmin Eliarda Alaras; and niece, Arla Gabrielle Alaras. She was preceded in death by her father, Adolfo Alaras.
Her faith was central to her life. She loved God deeply and was a devoted member of The Foursquare Church in the Philippines and The Crossing Church in Las Vegas. Her strength throughout her illness, especially during her battle with breast cancer, reflected her unshakable trust in Him.
She enjoyed writing, reading, singing, and expressing her creativity through crafts like cross-stitch and beading. She loved going on adventures with her husband and close friends, and collecting magnets from her travels. A passionate foodie, she enjoyed cooking and discovering new cuisines. Her beloved dogs Lady, Chippy, and her service dog Bruno were constant sources of comfort and happiness.
A visitation for Phoebe will be held Friday, April 25, 2025 from 5-8pm and on Saturday, April 26, 2025 from 2-3pm at Palm Southwest Mortuary, 7979 W. Warm Springs Rd., Las Vegas, NV 89113. Funeral service will begin at 3pm on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at Palm Southwest Mortuary.
She will be remembered for her warmth, creativity, strength, and deep love for God.
