A long-time resident of Fullerton, California and a Henderson resident since 1992, Phil was born September 12, 1949 in Columbus, Ohio. After earning a degree in finance from California State University, Fullerton he attended Naval Officer Candidate School where he was commissioned an Ensign and attained the rank of LTJG. After retiring from the United States Navy, he spent most of his career as an examiner or investigator for the FDIC, SEC and the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas.
He was devoted to Lynette, his wife of 29 years, their daughter Carrie and his LDS faith. He served as secretary in the High Priests Quorum, secretary in the Sunday School Presidency, taught Primary for several years and loved being a Home Teacher. In addition to Lynette and Carrie, Phil is survived by his father John Stryker, brother John P. Stryker (Karen Buckingham) and sister Elaine J. Stryker. His mother Naomi J. Stryker precedes him in death.
Services will be held on Monday, February 29 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2497 Cozy Hill Circle in Henderson: Viewing at 9:00 am, funeral at 11:00 am. Interment will be the following day at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive in Boulder City.
