Patrick Linwood Kelley

Patrick Kelley was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on 1/23/1950 to Clarence and Esther Kelley. Except for a brief few years living in Virginia, he lived in Fort Wayne until moving to Bloomington, Indiana for college. He graduated from Indiana University in 1972 with a degree in Biological Sciences. He was an Eagle Scout.

He met Elizabeth Wood, his future wife, at their incoming Freshman Dances and they were pretty much inseparable ever after. In college he loved going on motorcycle rides in Brown County and fishing with his college buddies. He also enjoyed tinkering on his and his friends cars.

He supported his wife in her Pediatric Career as her office and business manager when in private practice, worked as a realtor, and did phototgraphy and painting. He was an avid learner and took courses at several of the universities they were associated with through work. It was important to both of them that their boys have a parent at home most of the time during the day so he made his work flexible . His greatest job as well as achievement was raising his two sons, Patrick and Sheridan Kelley. He was a wonderful role model He remodeled several of their homes, and was able to teach his wife to be a fair assistant on their projects.

They relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada in 2014 to be closer to family. He enjoyed the warm winters especially as could enjoy snow briefly at his younger son's in Michigan when desired.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Kelley, Sons Sheridan and Patrick Kelley. Daughter-in-laws Elizabeth K Kelley and Michelle Kelley. He has one adorable grandson, Logan Robert Kelley. He was lucky to have many nieces and nephews through marriage as well as brother and sisters­in-laws who enjoyed welcoming him into the family.

When he first met his wife's family, her two brothers decided he needed to have some good ole sibling fun. Pat had been an only son in a fairly conservative family. Her brothers easily helped him to be of good cheer with excellent drinks and then took him on a "skunk hunt" in rural Massachusetts. No skunk was found but lots of fun.

Private family Services and a Celebration of Life will take place in Michigan in the spring.

In place of flowers, any tributes his family would like donated to Child Life of Summerlin Hospital to make the childrens' stay more comfortable.
