PASQUAL VARGAS Pasqual Vargas, of Las Vegas, passed away peacefully Feb. 11, 2014, surrounded by his sisters, Patricia and Henrietta, and best friend, Ray, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. He was born in Battle Mountain, Nov. 11, 1955, and grew up in El Paso, Texas. He graduated from El Paso High School, and moved to Las Vegas in 1979. Pasqual will always be in our hearts, with memories of his smiling face and a sense of humor. He was the best-dressed person we knew. He had class. He was working to get his bartender's license at the time, at the Aria Restaurant/Julian Serrano, as a bar back before his illness. One of his dreams was to visit New York City, which he did last year. He loved to travel and cook for anybody who came to visit him, no matter how tired. He was our little brother, a loyal friend to all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lenore D. Estrada; sister, Ramona McLaren; sisters-in-law, Carol Flores and Mary Rodrigues; and nephews, Terry Orozco and Freddy Flores Jr. He is survived by siblings, Jess Fred Flores, Gilbert Flores, Remigio Vargas, Robert Vargas, Querino Vargas, Richard Vargas, Theresa DeLekta, Patricia Flores, Henrietta Flores, Petra Estorga and Catalina Manrique; 24 nieces and 11 nephews. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, at Guardian Angels Cathedral, 302 Cathedral Way.
Arrangements under the direction of Palm South Jones Mortuary, Las Vegas, NV.
