Palma Grace Scolieri Vignale, 95, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away on January 22, 2015. She died peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones. Palma was born on August 1, 1919 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Giosofatto and Josephine Scolieri. She had four sisters and four brothers. She graduated from Langley High School in 1936. On July 4, 1944 she married Louis Leon Vignale. In the next 10 years, she gave birth to five boys; her first boy Louis died at birth. Palma, Louis and their four sons move to Southern California in the summer of 1956. She loved to cook so it was easy for her to get a job as the Chef at Augies Fireside in Burbank. She also was the Chef at Rancho San Antonio, Boys Town of the West. It was run by the Brothers of the Holy Cross. She loved that job and the boys and Brothers of the Holy Cross loved her. In 1972, Palma and Louis moved to Las Vegas, and one by one over the next six years all their sons moved there too. Palma worked as a Chef at Sunrise Hospital till she retired at the age of 62. Palma loved to work crossword puzzles and play cards with her family. She was very family oriented. She enjoyed her sons and their children and would often through the decades returned to Pittsburgh for big family reunions with the last one being in August of 2014. Palma is survived by her sister Carmella Moore; brother Michael Scolieri; sister Sunta Marnell; sons Robert Vignale, James Vignale and Paul Vignale; daughters-in-law Jeanette, Carol, and Cheryl; eleven grandchildren Stephanie, James, Christina, Mike, John, Heather, Leasa, Charley, Chris, Joey, and Paul; and all her great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2015 from 10:00am – 12:00pm followed by a funeral service at 12:00pm and a committal service at 1:00pm. All services will be held at Palm Eastern Mortuary and Cemetery.
