Nita M Hunter

Nita was born November 29, 1966, to Victoriano and Filipina Macaranas in Urdaneta, Pangasinan in the Philippines. She graduated from Urdaneta National High School in 1983 and from the University of Luzon in 1985. After graduation, she began working in the court of law as a secretary. In 1994 she met William H. Hunter and they happily married in October of that year. Together they moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, and started their family in 1996 with the birth of their first child.

Nita worked at Harry Reid International Airport (previously McCarran International Airport) as a booth cashier for over 20 years. During this time, she met many wonderful friends for life who always brightened her day and supported her during her toughest times.

Nita met Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and the Lord of her life at 5 years old. She was baptized at the Roman Catholic Diocese of Urdaneta by Reverend Antonio M. Palma. Since then, she has always stayed true to her faith and instilled these values when raising her children. She served as an inspiring example of living according to the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Nita is survived by her husband, William H. Hunter; sons, Jonathan R. Hunter, Christian P. Hunter; daughter, Joanna M. Hunter; sister, Gloria Macaranas Gabatino, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and close friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Filipina Macaranas; her father, Victoriano Macaranas; and numerous aunts and uncles.

A reception for Nita will be held Sunday, December 11, 2022, from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM at Palm Eastern Mortuary, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123. A visitation will occur from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123. A funeral service will occur Sunday, December 11, 2022, from 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM, at 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123. A graveside service will occur Monday, December 12, 2022, from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at Palm Northwest Cemetery, 6701 North Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89131.
