He was the beloved husband of Diane; dear father of Nicholas Jr. (Caylei), Adam (Carin), Timothy (Gwen), Stephanie Jennings (Kevin), and Brendan Meyer (Carolina); grandfather to Chase, Anne, Isaac, Clara, Josiah, Pearl, Molly, Samuel, Rylan, and Reagan Vogelzang. Cherished brother of Robert (Gail), Mark (Marthe), Kathleen Groen (Karl), Philip (Katy), Michael (Jennifer), and Mary (Marne). Many nieces and nephews.
Burial service will be private; however, a memorial service/celebration of life that will be open to all is being planned with details to be announced.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Nicholas J. Vogelzang MD Symposium and Scholarship through the Hope Foundation. The symposium honors the valuable contributions that he made in support of his colleagues and patients throughout his career with the SWOG Cancer Research Network. These sessions will be special group sessions that are dedicated to covering a range of topics in GU research.
