She was a wonderful person with a contagious enthusiam - I danced with her (at the Ethnic Experss International Folk Dancers club)  but also shared her love for the water and had the pleasure of snorkelling Lake Mead with her (2019).

Myreen is in the desert flowers in bloom that decorate the desert valleys.
Myreen is in the Grand Canyon sunset that glows orange until the last ray of light.
Myreen is in every cove of Lake Mead friendly enough to offer a pleasant snorkel.
In Heaven, and in my heart, Lake Mead is once again full, the southwest flowers are blooming, and Myreen is snorkeling under the sun, relaxed, as it is she who has filled Lake Mead again with infinite love per gallon.

I remember the time Myreen took Goldie, my cousin, and I snorkeling across a shallow cove filled with underwater lettuce-like plants of all colors. I never said no, as I didn’t want to let down Myreen, but 8-year-old me was terrified of those lettuce-looking plants staring up at me. On the way my cousin lost her snorkel, dove down, got tangled in plants, panicked, and got a scolding from Myreen about valuing her own safety first and never going to dive after an object that is not as valuable as her life. I understood how much Myreen was looking after us.

Myreen is in the tofu I cut up in squares to put into salad, as I learned of its existence thanks to her.
Myreen is in every glass of plain cold milk I see, for the million times she offered me one as a girl.
Myreen is in every snorkel and mask I see for the rest of my life, for all the times gone snorkeling and learning how to snorkel from her.
Myreen is in every Hanukkah menorah, dreidel, and Israeli dance for the all the times celebrated with her.
Myreen is in every view and thought of Lake Mead for the rest of my life.

Myreen was my aunt, not by blood, but by choice. People say “blood is thicker than water”, but they’re wrong. The water of Lake Mead is the strongest in the world. I miss my aunt terribly and the pain I feel at her loss will not diminish any time soon, but her love will always be here, where the desert flowers bloom, where the sun tinges the hills orange, and where the water of Lake Mead flows, keeping it full to the brim in Heaven.

When we first met in high school in girls chorus.  The Myreen smile and joy in life is unforgettable. and will be missed.  I am grateful that we reconnected  in Nevada, danced, kayaked, prayed, laughed, shared piano music.  Goldie,  conversations always included updates about you, she clearly loved you so much and was proud of you!  Rabbi Zukrow and I send our condolences and hope that you find some comfort in wonderful memories.

In February we had the pleasure and honor of taking Myreen to an Israeli dance camp that she  loved so much. Myreen absolutely LOVED Israeli dance and I remember dancing with her many years ago for Israel Independence Day. Pete worked with her in the BLM even before I knew her about 30 years ago. I'm very sad. She will be missed by us and all who knew her.

ShaBat Services were held regularly at Congragation Or Midbar with cantor Myreen leading the music playing guitar and the rest of us singing along.

We were dancing at Myreen's 66 birthday party last year to an Israeli folk song ShAaVTem MaYeem BeSaSon.
She was so full of life and energy, and always the life of the party.
It's hard to believe she's gone.

Here is a picture of Myreen on a visit to Colorado. Stella Todd Whisler in the middle.  My on the right and me on the left. We were able to reconnect after many years. Myreen was a close friend in High School. We would go to the JCC for Israeli Folk dancing at the Bet Cafe. We danced in a trope together for the Israeli Independence Day Celebration. We rode bikes for hours, swam after hours of folk dancing. She was super energetic. 
Her beautiful smile and big heart always willing to listen to what was really happening and offer a shoulder to lean into.
I am so sad to hear of her death, but I know she loved life and lived it fully, with grace.  
I will keep my memories of singing and dancing and swimming out to the buoy in Lake Michigan at midnight in my heart. Myreen knew life was an adventure to be celebrated every day.  She was talented and unique. Myreen had spirit to share with everyone.

It was April 1999 when we (myself and family) were exploring the town of Meadview. Suddenly, we saw a young woman with a toddler emerge from behind some desert bush. We pulled over and started talking to such a friendly person. Later on we reconnected and a long lasting friendship began. I remember our adventures in Lake Mead with our girls; springbreaks, Thanksgivings and New Years together. We shared times of happiness as well as challenging ones. Above all we were closest friends and, as I told you more than once, you were my only true friend in the US. I loved you so much!  Furthermore, I will love you as long as I live. I will always dream of joining  you in your loving "group hug",

Myreen was my true soulmate. We met in the bottom of the Grand Canyon. She loved life very much. Almost every day when she would wake she would go outside and exclaim "What a gorgeous day! Let's do something fun".  She passed way to young. My regret is not being able to spend more time with her, to appreciate her more, to be grateful and return all the love she gave me. I will always love you very much Myreen

I am beyond saddened by Myreen's passing. She was was my lovable, enduring roommate at the U of I and very dear friend! I can still hear her laugher. Her smile and enthusiasm was contagious.! I am moved by her passion-devout love for Goldie and causes important to her. She was never low key by any stretch of the imagination!  I will miss her so very much but sense that she is not leaving us. We love you Myreen for ever!!!!!

Myreen became a special friend during high school, when a small group of us would bike ride, and go to the beach together quite frequently.  I reconnected later briefly as a young adult, and then again, only more recently, about a year ago, too. More recently, she joined us in the early days of our planning for a high school reunion.  As her middle name shows, she was a bright star, and will be sorely missed.  Her memory can only be a blessing.

Myreen would lite up a room and keep the party going.

Myreen was full of life and will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched. I was honored to have known and danced with Myreen for about 15 years.

 We were all getting together to have our High School reunion, which I know she wanted to be there.  She will be with us in spirit. We all loved Myreen and wish her family condolences 🙏.

She always added so much love & positivity to the atmosphere and never failed to show her deep appreciation for others. She loved to dance with enthusiasm and was a bright light on our dance floor ❤️💃🏾she had a zest for life! We were fortunate enough to have her join us in February at Camp SheLAnu 2023 when she decided to sign up last minute, though her cancer was worsening. We will miss her greatly. Another angel now in peace, dancing in heaven. 👼🏼 Our dance community mourns her loss and sends her family hugs & prayers. May her memory be a blessing.

Myreen was such a shining light in our dance community. She always had a smile on her face and was kind to everyone around her. She is truly missed and I’m so glad to have known her. 

Myreen was a special person who loved life and persevered to overcome every obstacle she encountered.  A lovely lady, she will be greatly missed in the Israeli Dance community, and the broader community as well.  Zichrono Livracha.  May her memory be for a blessing

We met at Israeli dance in Los Angeles and became friends. Your personality—_positive, caring,  generous, kind and full of life.  You kept your friends  and family  close -especially your daughter-Goldie.   
    We have laughed, cried, and  shared confidences.  We danced, sang, and spent great times together.  I was able to call you last week from Israel … and you said goodbye.  
   I miss you. May your memory be a blessing.
