Mitchell Robert Lesko aka The Moon/Mayor Mitch - 71, passed away December 23, 2020. This tragic loss has reverberated through his family, friends and the community. Born April 9, 1949 in Brooklyn, NY he was a graduate of Lincoln High and Miami Dade Junior College. Mitch moved to Las Vegas when he was 21 and was a craps dealer for 49 years, the last 36 years at the MGM Grand. Mitch truly loved his job and made numerous lifelong friendships. He met several celebrities such as his “pal” Luke Bryan and his “buddy” Bruno Mars. He was preceded in death by his parents Herman and Molly. Mitch is survived by his wife of 39 years Sharon aka Sweet Sue, his son Chad “Vavricek” (Callie), Rudy (Anna), Adam (Breean), and daughter Tara (Aaron) and his 13 beloved grandchildren, the joys of his life-Alec “Alec-I”, Marisa “Old Moe”, Samantha “Smiling Sam”, Stephanie “San Diego Steph”, Bailey “Bails”, Colton, Reece, Jackson, Molly, Maddux, Colby, Caleb and Casey. His sister and brother-in-law Joanie and Al Levine of NJ. His sister-in-law Kristi Flodman aka Piffy. His 5 nephews, Steven, Andrew, Sean, Tommy and Zachary. His 2 nieces, Jodi and Zierra, his 4 grand nieces Jessica, Melissa, Abby and Katie. His 12 wonderful cousins, Bob, Arlene, JoAnn, Marilyn, Gail, Jerry, Kenny, Carol, Margie, Amy, Madeline and Michelle. Mitch loved watching almost any sport, especially the Dodgers, NY Giants, Boston Celtics and Vegas Golden Knights. He also enjoyed westerns and action movies on TV, coaching baseball and attending his children's and grandchildren's events (he could always be heard cheering from the stands) and he seldom missed his “happy nappy”. His favorite past times were going to the beach, attending Dodger games, taking road trips and enjoying Sharon's cooking and baking. We were extremely fortunate when Mitch retired in 2019 to be able to take a 45 day cross country road trip which included baseball games, National Parks, Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives and visiting family and friends. Directing traffic and kids in the carpool lane at Kitty Ward was the highlight of his retirement. He was elated when his Dodgers won the World Series. Coach Mitch was well known and respected throughout little league. We will love and miss him always. R.I.P. Papa! GO DODGERS!! SHALOM!!
