His family moved a number of times while he was growing up and they eventually settled in Miami, Florida where Michael attended the University of Miami, raised a family, and built a successful accounting practice. In 1978, he moved to Las Vegas and he spent the last four decades as a casino executive at a number of iconic Las Vegas resorts including the Golden Nugget, the Mirage, Bellagio, and Wynn.
Michael found his greatest joy being with the family and friends he loved. Relationships were at the very heart of his identity, and his Jewish faith offered him a deeper and broader connection to what he valued most – a relationship to his past, a hope for his future, and an ever present reminder of something larger than himself.
On November 14, 2022, Michael passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by love. His life was a gift and it will continue to be a source of joy for those who remain – his wife Maryann, his sister Elaine and his brother Joel, his children David and Andrew, their mother Susan and their spouses Kelly and Trina, his grandchildren Storey, Peri, and Blaise, his nieces Kevyn and Gillian , and many others whose lives he touched. He will be missed. He will be celebrated. And he will be remembered.
