On December 4th 2020, Michael Allan Brown passed away after complications from an illness. Michael was born on March 27, 1961 in Plattsburgh, NY to his parents, the late Ouida Somersall-Brown of Bermuda and the late James C. Brown, Jr. of St. Louis, MO.
In 1972, Michael moved with his parents and his sisters, Lynette and Renee, to Las Vegas, NV where he attended JE Manch Elementary and Jim Bridger Middle Schools. Michael was a proud graduate of the Bishop Gorman High School, Class of 1979, where he excelled in both academics and athletics. As a 3-year captain of the varsity basketball team, Michael was awarded several honors including: All State Team (2 years), Nevada Player of the Year (2 years), and All Conference Team (3 years). Michael finished his high school basketball career with two back-to-back Nevada State Championships. In both instances, he was selected as the state's Most Valuable Player.
After high school, Michael attended the University of Pennsylvania where he earned a Bachelor degree in Psychology. As a superior basketball sportsman, Michael ended his four-year collegiate career with an Ivy League winning record of 47-9, where he was selected as the team co-captain in 1982-83. Additionally, Michael was a two-time All-Ivy player, a one-time All-Big 5 player, and led the Quakers to three Ivy League Championships and one Big 5 title during his time at Penn.
It was during the first week of his college freshman year at the University of Pennsylvania that Michael met the love of his life Jacqueline Elise. Upon their completion at UPenn, Michael and his Ivy
League Sweetheart married and returned to Las Vegas, Nevada to start their new life together.
Years later, Michael became a proud father to his two sons Jordan Alexander and William Austin. Michael faithfully worked at many corporations including Nevada State Bank, Caldwell Banker, and
Imperial Palace, before starting various companies as CEO.
Michael is survived by his devoted wife: Jacqueline Brown; his remarkable children: Jordan Brown and William Siffermann Brown; his adored sisters: Lynette Brown Jones and Renee Brown Browne; his cherished mother-in-law: Erma Butcher; and his dear brothers-in-law: Quentin (Deidre) Butcher, Gregory
Butcher, and Dino (Renee) Browne.
Michael will be missed by:
His beloved nieces and nephews: Alicia Jones, Daryn Browne, Kaden Jackson, and Dean Browne. His caring aunts and uncles: Helen Foster, Wanda (Dwight) Mott, William (Stacy) Brown, and Ray (Greta) Edness. His loving cousins: Rebekah Foster, Sheila White, Kenneth (Kim) Barnes, Diane (Eric) McKay, Sheldon Barnes, James Doucette, Amber Bates, Anthony Bates, Michael Brown, George (Lien) Corbin, Canty (Janet) Corbin, Michelle Corbin, Carlos Corbin, Peggy Henderson, Sherry Beck, Terry Brown,
Hampton Brown, Ginnie (Ron) Isom, Aminah McKay, Nia McKay and by a host of cherished family members and friends.
