Mary Hilda Stella Martinez

Marti Martinez, born in Alcalde, New Mexico, on January 25, 1946, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2024, at the age of 78. Marti will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and the deep friendships she nurtured throughout her life.

In 1961, Marti moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, where she lived an active and fulfilling life. She worked in a variety of roles over the years, from factory jobs to delivery services and eventually joining Cox Communications, where she formed lasting relationships with her coworkers. Marti’s friendly personality, dedication, and humor made her well-loved wherever she worked.

Marti had a passion for softball, a sport she loved playing throughout her life. On the field, she met many of her lifelong friends, and those relationships remained a constant source of joy.

Family was the cornerstone of Marti’s life. She had a special bond with her siblings and found great joy in spoiling her nieces and nephews, always showering them with love and affection. She was the heart of family gatherings, known for her fun stories and infectious laugh that brought everyone closer together.

Preceded in death by her parents, Deloy and Bernice Martinez, her brother Lido, and her brother-in-law Don, Marti leaves behind a legacy of kindness, friendship, and love. She will be dearly missed by her surviving siblings, Deloy, Louise, and Dianna and her nieces, nephews, and the many friends whose lives she touched.

A service to celebrate Marti’s life will be held at Palm Mortuary, 6701 N. Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89131, on November 9 at 4:00 p.m., with refreshments to follow. Family and friends are invited to come together to honor her memory.
