Mary G Jackson was born on December 10, 1932 in Transylvania, Louisiana to Howard Gilmore and Annie Mae Bunch. She was the oldest of seven siblings. She moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1962 where she worked in the casino industry at the Hacienda and Caesars Palace where she retired after 25 years.
Mary confessed Christ at an early age and became a member of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church where she served as an usher. Mary enjoyed serving in the church and did so until she was no longer physically able. She married William Jackson Sr. in 1964 and from that union, a son, William Jackson Jr was born.
Mary loved music, she liked to dance, and she was an avid sports fan. Mary was a fashionable woman who always matched from head to toe. She was a kind-hearted and loving mother who appreciated life and lived it to the fullest. She loved to party and was a wonderful cook who would often invite individuals from the neighborhood over for a hot meal.
Mary had a great love for her family and spent her free time socializing with them on the weekends and traveling back and forth to Louisiana. She is preceded in death by her father and mother; her sister Gladysteen Cartwright and her brothers. James, Lee, Henry, Clarence, and Frank Cartwright.
To cherish her memory, Mary leaves her son: William Jackson Jr. (Cherina); three grandchildren: Orion Jackson, William D Jackson III, and Mykel Parris; and her sister Willie B Burks, all of Las Vegas, NV. Mary also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
