Mark is survived by his daughter Theresa Hegeduis (Alan); his daughter Misty Kulle (Rolando Deleon); and his daughter Christine Potesta; his sister Suzanne Skish (late Donald), his sister Bernadette Hollins (Al), his brother David and Debra (Opri) Zawacki, and his brother Gerald Zawacki; his grandson Mark Hegeduis (Alana), his granddaughter Marissa Hegeduis, his grandson Brandon Potesta, his grandson Gianni Kulle and his grandson Christian Kulle. Mark also leaves behind 2 great-grand children, Paciano and Serene. Many Nieces and Nephews.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Billie Ann Zawacki in 2010, both parents Stanley Zawacki and Ann Plantz, and his brother Brian Zawacki.
He was well known in the Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana Region. His chef career began at The Stockyard Inn in Chicago, Illinois. Louie and Mario's Restaurant in Riverdale, Illinois which later became Westerfield's. He also worked at Mr. Kenny's in Highland, Indiana. And Radisson Star Plaza in Merrillville, Indiana.
Mark moved to Las Vegas in 1991, where he opened the Luxor Hotel as a Room Chef.
Later, he worked at Binion's Horseshoe as an Executive Chef before going to the Tropicana as Executive Chef. His Retirement job was working at the North Las Vegas Detention Center running the kitchen.
He taught Specialty classes at IU Northwest Campus.
He studied and certified through Johnson and Wales, while working full time and raising a family!
Mark loved great food, socializing with family and friends, and every cooking show and Western Movie that was playing on TV. Especially if it had John Wayne in it!
Because of Covid, there will be no services. His wishes were to be cremated and scattered in the Pacific Ocean joining his late wife Billie Ann in eternity.
