Dear Davis Family,

I had the privilege of meeting Margie in 1991 when my daughter Elizabeth became a Panda, and I came to work at Pegasus. Her lively wit, imagination, creativity, and joy in working with 4 year old children was immediately recognizable. Down she would go on one knee to look a wee child face to face to simply explain a new concept, share a joke with polished 4 year old humor, or let them know that they might want to re-think the words they just spoke. She taught all of us young parents the phrases that would be effective, how to discipline, and most assuredly how to love. 

Working side by side with Margie through many admission seasons to cull through innumerable applicants was frequently a learning experience for me. Her instincts were always right, but we never would have survived without her wry, witty remarks that consistently brought us to our knees in laughter. Her Panda classroom is legendary, and the gifts she bestowed on this school and to every child and family that was part of Panda-land is something I will always treasure. 

Margie's great courage in battling cancer cannot be understated. She was truly an inspiration to so many. I recall several conversations with her about you, her own family. She adored you and the look on he face when she spoke about her own children was a passionate mother's love. Please know of my great compassion for you and your family at this time.

35 years of so many memories of laughter and fun with our beautiful, one-of-a-kind, hilarious, loving Margie. She touched so many lives in her special way and will live on in all of our hearts forever. Sometimes "family" are the ones you

 Margie was a one in a million teacher! She made each child feel special and loved!!  She had a unique talent for teaching and understanding the developmental needs of pre-schoolers.She was truly a gift to the Pegasus School! I loved being a colleague of Margie's and will always remember the fun we had..she will never be forgotten!

Margie, God's child, and it showed everyday.  She can never be replaced, only emulated and fondly remembered.

Margie was amazing with my two boys at Pegasus. She always made me laugh and helped this busy mom see that it was OK when things went sideways...that it was just another opportunity for an unexpected adventure. We had a long running battle over Duke vs. Maryland which my boys wholeheartedly embraced...we sneaked into her classroom very early one morning and planted "Go Duke" signs around the room.....thought she would bust a gut laughing! She gave us a giant "Go Terps" t-shirt that until recently sat in a drawer..now it fits my high school senior! We will miss Margie, but please know that she is a very important part of our family lore and we will always remember her.   Karen and Charley Hurst and family

There are people who come into your life and change you forever....and Margie was that person for me! I love her for many reasons, but when I think of her it's always with a smile, because for my first, challenging year as a Pegasus teacher, she sent me a wildly inappropriate and irreverent joke via email every Monday morning. She made me take it all in stride and never too seriously. In these last months, I was reminded of that beautiful, sharp, relentless sense of humor that saw me through some tough times. Margie, I love you, and I will await the day we will laugh together again!

So many great memories of Margie at Bunco nights through the years. She had the greatest smile and laugh. I will miss that sense of humor!  She was so devoted to Jeff and her love for him and her girls was always so apparent. Rest in peace my friend.

You touched our lives and made us smile not only the kids but their parents.  Could not have had a better first school class experience than with you who my kids cherish.  You are much loved and will be missed.

Margie was a great person. You always knew when she was around, you could hear her laughter! She was compassionate & caring. We will miss seeing her at our Bunco gatherings! The angels got a good one!

I worked with Margie for several years at Pegasus and, besides her wicked sense of humor, I loved her the most because she brought out the best in everyone with whom she came in contact. Margie, indeed, had a gift for figuring people out quickly and allowing them to shine. She made sure she stayed in touch with me in all the years after she left the school, and I consider her a true friend. She touched my life, and I will never forget her.

Please accept our deepest condolences.  Margie was a beautiful lady inside and out and we will miss her wit, humor and companionship.  We feel privileged to have crossed paths in our retirement years.  As she used to say, our Ardiente community was an extension of our family.  Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

What a lovely photo tribute. The picture of us in Mexico brought back fond memories. Margie didn't really wake up until the second margarita! When the policia stopped us, I thought you would have to come get us! Margie was a wonderful friend, coworker and honorary Delta Gamma .

Margie was a mentor to all in so many ways. She was a powerful inspiration to all at The Pegasus School - students, parents, and colleagues alike. She brought a certain sparkle and magic to everyone who had the good fortune to know her. She will be missed, but please know that her inspiring and positive spirit impacted so many.

I am a friend of Margie's from high school. I always admired her spirit, her friendliness, her optimism, and her heart. She had a constant smile and was a delight to be around. We lost contact over the years, but reconnected on Facebook. We bonded quickly upon realizing that we both had ended up in early childhood education and were passionate about improving the lives of young children and their families. I felt very close to Margie in her last days. It was impossible not to admire her courage and spunk as she fought back against cancer. She lit the world with her soul and her memory will be carried in the hearts of all who loved her, including me.

I met Margie at the Pegasus School, she a Pre-K teacher and at the time I was a teacher assistant.  I worked with Margie for many summers in the Camp Pegasus Program and have many fond and of course humorous memories: like the time one of our "circus" acts (the lion) got stage fright so I got down on my hands and knees and "walked in" with the lion-Margie never missed a beat, she said "and here comes the Lion with his Trainer". We certainly had a good laugh many times over the years with that one.  One year we were doing "Thomas the Train" for Camp-Margie went home for lunch and came back with the idea of making the train out of an oatmeal box which to this day I thought was sooo clever "on a moment's notice".  You never knew what she would to next!!  I remember going to "The Phantom of the Opera" with Margie, Martha, Patty and I one Sat at the Pantages-they had all seen the play and I was the newbie.  A day or two 
after her death, Martha and I went to see that play again.  When we had lunch that day before the play, we toasted Margie and all the fun times we had.  Also, I remember how patient she was when my grandson was in her class and we lost his grandfather--he told her every day "you know my grandpa died". "Yes Braden I did know that" (no matter how many times he asked), she always listened!  We will miss Margie but have such fond memories of her time with us.
