Lori Jean Will, a long-time resident of the Las Vegas area, passed away on September 14, 2017 in her family home of a brain aneurysm. She was born on February 27, 1977 in Wessington Springs, South Dakota to Bonnie (Holeton) Will and Gary Will.
She began her secondary education at South Dakota State University in Brookings, South Dakota and received a Bachelor of Science in Agri-Business with a Marketing Concentration from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, California in June 2000. She then worked in the San Jose, California area. Upon relocating to Las Vegas, she began a career in casino gaming compliance having worked at both Gaming Laboratories International and International Gaming Technology as Manager of Product Compliance Operations.
Her beagle, Gus, was her constant companion and the love of her life. She was passionate about the Beagle Freedom Project and was a doting rescue Mom to Zazzles, a special needs cat, rescued from an animal research lab here in Las Vegas. She was an avid supporter of all animals, donating and campaigning for several animal related organizations.
Lori will always be remembered for her infectious laugh and quick razor sharp wit. She was very kind-hearted, loved life and her family and friends immensely. Lori could find humor in any situation and it was her goal in life to make others laugh.
She is survived by her mother, Bonnie (Holeton) Will from Wessington Springs, South Dakota and Las Vegas, Nevada; her sister,
Nichol Will-La Voy, of Las Vegas, Nevada; and two nephews, Christian La Voy and Andrew La Voy, both of Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
She was preceded in death by her father and best friend, Gary Will, of Kimball, South Dakota and Las Vegas, Nevada; her sister, Penny Will, of Las Vegas, Nevada; and her grandparents.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to The Beagle Freedom Project or your local women's shelter.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00p.m., Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at Palm Eastern Mortuary; burial will be held on September 29, 2017 at 2:00pm at Palm Eastern Cemetery.
