Kenny moved to the budding desert land of Las Vegas back in 1980 at age 11 from Korea; Kenny Lee knew humble beginnings. Once a pre-teen immigrant who experienced plenty of cultural awkwardness, having spoken zero English, he knew what it was like to struggle to ‘find your way’ in society. Kenny spent a great deal of his childhood helping his parents build their empire. The memories he would share of those days always sounded super fun from afar, but we must remember how different his upbringing was to most Americans. He learned how important work ethic was at such an early age and never took the amazing opportunities that were being provided in NV for granted.
In 1993 Kenny earned a Bachelor’s in Business Science in Loyola Marymount University and joined his father’s venture. He then married his wife Nami in 1994. Together they were fortunate to work with their father pursuing the American Dream. Since they have had 3 children, Nathan, Morgan and Adelynn.
Lee’s Discount Liquor and their charitable foundation, Lee’s Helping Hand, having a long-standing tradition of straightening families and communities through its innovative events and partnerships. Since 2002, they have contributed more than $1 Million to support local children’s charities, education, families and communities.
When Mr. Lee’s stage 4 pancreatic cancer announcement sprung upon the family in late 2020, Kenny displayed his greatest leap in responsibility in all-things-work-and-family. Just as Kenny said – on a Very consistent basis – “Life can end in an instant”. Ironically, his life ended exactly like that. As an homage to our buddy, Kenny Lee, promise yourself to cherish your time on this earth.
God took Kenny back to rest in peace in his loving embrace on November 19th.
