I only got to meet Kekoa on 3 occasions.  I remember him as being genuine, funny, gracious, warm and up for anything his children wanted him to do... the first time we met, Thanksgiving 2019, they had us play cards against humanity - the things we had to say out loud were hilarious and extremely off color - we laughed so hard, it's a treasured hilarious memory I will never forget! The second time was at Duke's gender reveal...he was gracious and funny and one truly proud papa!!!  The last time I saw him was at Duke's 1st birthday party... the same wonderful man, so proud of his daughter and son-in-law and the beautiful new home they had purchased.  Absolutely in love with his grandson Duke.  The family has lost a irreplaceable soul. Rest In Paradise Kekoa... You will be loved and missed forever....  

Maui Celebration Of Life will be on 10/22/22. Las Vegas celebration of life date TBD. 

So many great memories, but this one seems to be exactly how I will remember Kekoa... Surrounded by friends, kids and family. What a legacy Kekoa leaves. Sending hugs and prayers to his family.

My favorite and fondest memory...Will forever be of You, Ser and couple of friends...The night of  "Steel Pulse" concert at the Palms parking lot...When "Puamaeole and I tried to keep our rendezvous on da down  low,  but because we were sooo intoxicated we couldn't remember where we parked the  "VIZZUN" van.  Then you folks all rolled down the window to point out that the van was parked next to you. The look on our faces was like  "OMG, we're BUSTED...But the laughter we all shared echoed throughout that parking lot, will forever be a CLASSIC...Love YOU brother...Your memory will live forever in my heart...

My memories of Kakoa are his humor, his love for his family and love of the beach.. We all spent time on the beaches in California and he was one with the water. The part in Moana where the grandmother passes and she becomes the stingray that is Kakoa in my memories of him.. He had a beautiful kind heart and will be deeply missed.  My deepest love to the Quipotla family, children and grandchildren.  I know he will be your guardian angel as life continues to move forward. XOXO 

Remember our childhood and it was wonderful and precious to me.  I have memories with you that only you and I share.  I will always cherish your humor and hospitality and your smile.  Also your motivation to get off of the island and chase your dream.  Because of distance we didn’t talk as much but when we connected, in Chi, or Vegas, or Maui we connected.  I remember your comforting words and how you showed up in person in Chi to support me.  Love you always Kekoa and slap my brother for me.  Also Serena, condolences to you!  You are an incredible woman and despite circumstances loved and supported him until he went back to his Creator.  Peace and love to you and yours. 

My heart is hurting. I am in shock to the news of your passing.  On June 18, “Hi Summmerrrrrrrr” was the last thing you told Ser to tell me, & my biggest regret was not calling that day to hear you say it to me.  You treated me like your little sister and took me in.  When I needed a place to stay, you & Ser opened up your home to me, no questions asked.  When I needed a job, you gave me the job at TapouT which was the best job of my life! You always made me laugh &  our inside joke was that I was always the one who would take one for the team.  I would do it for you! The best one yet that never got old & always stuck with us is “Hi, I’m from Summerrrrrrrrr” 🤦🏻‍♀️ our inside jokes were always the best because it took us all back to the good old times. 

Koa, thank you for everything you have ever done for me. I’ve always appreciated you & Ser so much.  I love you both more than you know.  Getting married was the best thing that ever happened to me but that also meant having to move away. I knew I would miss out on so much & that’s exactly what happened.  I missed out on so much that I wish I was there for.  I will always cherish the memories we have & the lessons you taught me about life.  Thank you brother for loving me like family.  

To the Quipotla Ohana, I send my deepest condolences, hugs & prayers to your entire ohana.  I pray that God gives you strength & that somehow in the darkness you find peace.  I love you all so much. Even though I’m so far away, I hope you all know that I am and always have been just a phone call away.  God Bless you.

Still remember the days of all us Latin persuasion cycle going to car shows on Oahu with the shirts kekoa would get printed for us to wear and looked so good you’ll be missed my brother 

Dad, first off, thank you. Thank you for the memories, the love, the knowledge. Thank you for teaching me things I will carry-on and share to my own kids. thank you for making me feel worthy for making me feel strong and for always reminding me to be brave and do things fearlessly. you are my best friend and I promise to preserve your name, your energy, and your life forever. I love you so much and I hope you always know you are an incredible Papa. My son and future kids will always know that. I miss your laugh, your wrestling matches, your jokes, everything. I miss you every day. Live it up on the other side, love you dad!!
