Kathleen Veltre

Kathleen Bliss Veltre, resident of Henderson, Nevada, passed away September 30th, 2017. She was born on July 6th, 1947 to John and Catherine Bliss in Jersey City, New Jersey. Before moving to Nevada, Kathy was a cherished resident of Old Bridge, New Jersey. Kathy was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Nicknamed “Red” by her husband for her blazing red hair, she was a vivacious spirit, filled with laughter and love. She lit up the room with her penchant for all things that sparkle. She is fondly remembered by many as a warm and generous friend. Kathy had a passion for bingo and worked many years as a bingo manager in Las Vegas. Although she was devoted to her job, Kathy’s true passion was for her family. She cherished visiting and traveling with her boys and their children. Family was always at the center of her heart and, for that, she will be sorely missed by all those that were fortunate to love her. She was preceded in death by her son, William, and her parents. Kathy is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years, Armond “Jerry”; 3 loving sons, Adam (Heather) of New Jersey, Keith (Lisa) of Henderson, and Brian (Shayna) of Henderson; 8 adoring grandchildren, Tyler, Tanner, Kyle, Cameron, Cassidy, Jaiden, McKayla, and Brianna. 3 brothers, Johnny (Joan), William, and Richard (Michelle); 2 sisters, Barbara (Ricky) and Pamela (John). She was a cherished aunt and great-aunt to many nieces and nephews whom she left an indelible mark on their lives. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Thursday, October 5th, 2017 at Palm Eastern Mortuary 7600 S Eastern Avenue, Las Vegas, NV 89123. The funeral mass will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, October 6th, 2017 at St. Thomas More 130 N Pecos Rd., Henderson, Nevada 89074.
