Joy Tingen Wade, 84, a homemaker, of Las Vegas, passed away Nov. 14, 2010. She was born May 3, 1926, in Parowan, Utah, and was a 30-year resident of Nevada. Joy lived in Las Vegas as a child, and while attending Las Vegas High School, she was crowned junior prom queen for the class of 1943. She attended the yearly Las Vegas High School reunions. She married high school sweetheart, Cecil Lee Looney. Joy is survived by three children born in California, Michael Looney of California, Russell Looney of Ohio, and Holly Nail of Las Vegas. After Cecil Looney passed away in 1961, Joy married Gordon Rufus Wade and returned with him to live her last 15 years in Las Vegas. Known for her kindness and compassion, Joy worked as an instructional aide for disabled children for the Anaheim City School District and received Classified Employee of the Year for her work. She also contributed hours serving the elderly in an organization called "Because We Care." She was a Cub Scout den leader for 16 years as well. She will be sadly missed by her family which also includes five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Viewing will be 4-7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, both at Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. in Las Vegas, Nevada.
