Josefina Dayrit Abuan, 85, of Las Vegas, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2023 with her family by her side. She was still very active and independent before she succumbed to her death. She was very loved and will be missed terribly. If you would like to pay your respects, you are welcome to attend the memorial service we are holding in her honor on May 12, 2023 (Friday) at the Palm Mortuary on Eastern Avenue in Las Vegas, NV from 2-4 pm then a service to be officiated by Father Casaleggio at 4pm.
Pine was born in Mabalacat, Pampanga, Philippines to Felipe and Francisca Dayrit on March 19, 1938. She went to school at the Mabalacat Elementary School. She married Wilfredo "Willie" Abuan on June 23, 1963. She graduated from Philippine Normal College and obtained a degree in Education. She worked as an elementary school teacher, became a Girl Scouts Coordinator for her provincial district before her retirement. She was involved with community services and became the President of Lions Club in Angeles City, Pampanga. She loved to cook, dance, an avid reader, a "fashionista" in her own right, traveling, doing her crossword puzzles in her spare time and is a devoted fan of Elvis.
Pine is preceded in death by her parents, daughter Jocelyn, her siblings Miling, Rora, Isca, Rosie and Jad.
She is survived by her spouse Willie, her children Chito and his wife Chiqui, Rachel, Rosanna, Ronnie and his spouse Chey, her siblings Resing, Ben, Pres, Odic and Ruth, 8 grandchildren (Jorelle, Jayce, Joie, Janelle, Jen, Cathy, Nathan and Charlize) and 3 great grand children (Olivia, Amelia and Ryley).
The family of Pine wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the doctors and nurses at St Rose Dominican Hospital (Siena Campus) in Henderson, NV for their compassion and kindness.
