Joni L. Wells (nee Johnson), 58, of Las Vegas, entered into rest Sept. 8, 2013. She was a wonderful wife and mother. Once her children were in school, she joined the work force and later started as a change girl at a casino. In a short time, she rose through the ranks, becoming the director of slots for two major casinos. In spite of her success, she chose to retire and concentrate on being a grandma, her greatest joy. Joni was preceded in death by her father, Jim Johnson; brother, Johnny Johnson; and sister, Jodi Groshong. She is survived by her loving husband, Bruce; sons, Adam (Patty) and David (Shanda); mother, Billie Johnson; sister, Judi Enriquez; and her 13 grandchildren, Kalyope, Brianna, Anthony, Xavier, Ariel, Elric, Phoenix, Christopher, Zoey, Maya, Troy, Jacob and Sydney. She also leaves behind many other "second family" members. She taught us that love should be given unconditionally and shown at every opportunity. She will be deeply missed. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15, in the King David Memorial Chapel, 2697 E. Eldorado Lane. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in Joni's name.
