It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jon Davis Brackin (81), son of Vera Irene Davis and John Robert Brackin. Jon passed away at his home on January 1st 2024 after living a long and fulfilling life. He was born in California, lived briefly in Utah, and moved to Las Vegas as a young boy. He lived out the remainder of his life in Las Vegas, and loved the warm weather and sunny days. He was an electrician by trade and spent over four decades as a Master Electrician. He thoroughly enjoyed his chosen career path.
Jon was a man of many interests. He loved cars and was a very involved member of both the Corvette Club and the PT Cruiser Club after that. His favorite thing to do was spend time with his children and grandchildren - he took them camping, hunting, boating, and fishing every chance he got. One of his most beloved pastimes was taking his children on road trips to explore the beauty of the country's National Parks. His children's fondest memories include road trips through the parks of Utah while listening to 90s country classics on CD. In his retirement he spent his time expanding his stamp and coin collections, keeping in touch with his large extended family, watching basketball, and hanging out with his two cats.
He is survived by his: five daughters (Jennifer, Jodi, Janel, Jenna, and Jordan); one son (Jon R); brothers Bobby and Jim; sisters-in-law Nancy and Lan; nieces Jami and Sian; nephew Sean; great-nephews Brackin and Bowe; ex-wives Marlene and Susan; 9 grandchildren (Amberlyn, JT, Kristopher, Cody, Jason, Xavier, Dakotah, Shyann, Koy); and 11 great grandchildren (Jacqueline, Kaleb, Ethan, Harley, Tatum, Sawyer, Holden, Marlow, Caden, Grayson, and soon-to-be born Waylon). Jon is now reunited in heaven with his first-born grandson, Scott.
A celebration of life will be held in his honor on Saturday, January 27th at 3pm at Palm Southwest (Buffalo and Warm Springs) in Las Vegas.
