John & Shirley Ellis

John Ellis was born in Kansas City, Missouri on August 31, 1941. He went home to be with our Lord and Savior on March 26, 2024. Shirley Ellis was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on April 5, 1942. She went home to be with our Lord and Savior on April 14, 2024.

John and Shirley met in Oxnard, California and they were married on August 7, 1965. They had three children, Larry Ellis, Rachel (Al) Budd and Denice (Craig) Stark. They were then blessed with grandchildren; Candice (Tim) Williams, Alexis (Alvie) Castro, Jonny (Heather) Budd, Jeremy (Lauren) Stark, Christian Stark, Amanda (Billy) Bender, Charla Ellis, Marisa Ellis; great grandchildren, Joclyn Castro, Coby Castro, TJ Williams, Memphis Williams, Zayden Felder, Gunner Stark, Liberty Stark, Jazzy Bender, and Colton Bender.

John and Shirley always enjoyed spending time with family and friends: going on cruises, concerts and especially game nights. John was a very hard worker. Work took he and his family to Arizona, California, Idaho, and he and his family ended up in Henderson, Nevada in 1994. John was a faithful servant of God. He never left home without a pocket full of Tracts.

Shirley was a loving and faithful wife. Devoted to her husband and was a loving mother to her children. Mom and dad were an inspiration and a living example of Christ’s love.

A funeral service for John and Shirley will be held Sunday, April 28, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Wagon Wheel MB Church, 821 Cadiz Ave, Henderson, NV 89015. A committal service will occur Monday, April 29, 2024 from 1:20 PM to 2:00 PM at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Dr, Boulder City, NV 89005.

Johnny Budd, Alvie Castro, Tim Williams, Jeremy Stark, Christian Stark, Pete Ellis, Brian Ellis, Frank Ellis, Robert Ellis, Al Budd, and Craig Stark will serve as pallbearers.
