John LeRoy Rathbun

John L. Rathbun II, 80, of Henderson found peace and reunited with Coralie on October 10, 2016. He was born on January 9, 1936 to John and Thelma Rathbun in Ferndale, Michigan. He was a 35-year resident of Henderson. John devoted 20 years of his life to the US Air Force. He retired in 1975 and started his second career with Hughes Aircraft, retiring for a second time in 1992.

John was preceded in death by his parents John and Thelma Rathbun; sister Carol Bickman; the Love of his Life and wife Coralie Rathbun; and his puppies Skooter and Bailey.

He is survived by his children John (Pam), Jerald (Dawn), James (Terri), Jeffrey (Diane aka Sunshine), Lisa (Rick) Mischke; step children Carrie (Mark) Porterfield and Jamie (Tom) Emlaw; goddaughter Jessica Wilson; and by many grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as his many friends.

Those who were blessed to know John in his short 80 years on this earth were forever touched by his smile and love of NASCAR.

Visitation will be at Palm Mortuary at 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas from 4:00 to 8:00pm on Thursday, October 13th with services to be held at 10:40am on Friday, October 14th at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 19000 Veterans Memorial Drive in Boulder City. Burial will immediately follow the service.
