Johnny Mullen, 71, passed away suddenly on January 18th. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on March 1, 1952. He enlisted in the US Air Force in February, 1977 and served for over 26 years, starting as an aircraft crew chief and culminating as the 57th Operations Group Superintendent at Nellis AFB. Johnny retired from the Air Force in September, 2003 at the rank of Chief Master Sergeant, a rank reached by less than one percent of Air Force enlistees. Along the way he served in England, Germany, Korea, at Edwards AFB, and finally at Creech AFB and Nellis AFB. After his retirement, Johnny worked for Battlespace, Inc., as a branch superintendent and deployed many times to Iraq, Afghanistan, and Kuwait as the site lead, overseeing all unmanned aircraft maintenance operations as the sites. He retired for good in 2020. Johnny loved spending time with his family and friends, going to local events, and building Lego sets. A true gentleman, Johnny will be missed by his brother, Mark (Jean), sisters, Marjorie Brennan (Larry) and JoAnne Dickson, (brother, Edward J. predeceased him) son, JJ (Angela), daughter, Samantha (Jamison), six grandchildren, and a multitude of friends.
