John Richard Morgan II, 77, passed away in his home on Thursday, January 25, 2024. He was born on August 15, 1946, in Atlantic City, New Jersey and attended Atlantic City high school. John attended Trenton State College. Shortly after, John served in the United States Army for 3 years between 1966 and 1969. He received the distinguished Medal of Honor and the Vietnam Service Medal. He moved to Manahawkin, New Jersey where he worked for AT&T for 25 years. John was an avid model railroader enthusiast and loved his family dearly.
After his retirement, he moved to Brunswick, Georgia in 2007. After his period of time in Georgia, John and his wife moved to Henderson, Nevada, as a resident of 14 years. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother. John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Jean Morgan. He is survived by his younger brothers Jimmy and Jeff Morgan, his children Christine Scafuri and Shannon La Neve, and his beloved grandchildren, Madison and Nicholas Scafuri and Morgan and Mackenzie La Neve.
John's Celebration of Life memorial service will be at 12:00 p.m. on February 17, 2024, at Palm Eastern Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Avenue, Las Vegas, NV 89123. The placement ceremony will follow.
