John A. Hogg

John A. Hogg, 72, a resident of Las Vegas, passed away on July 28, 2013 at Gentiva Hospice. He was born May 23, 1941 in Providence, Rhode Island to Bernard and Mary Hogg. He found his soul mate and partner for life when he married Rizza Lacerona in Subic Bay, Philippines; he was 47 and she was 21. They met in a coffee shop where she was a waitress. They were together for 28 years and married for 25 years.

After high school John joined the United States Navy, and served close to 30 years. He received multiple medals especially during the Vietnam Era. After retiring from the United States Navy, John went to college to continue learning. He was an intelligent man, and loved to learn. John was a productive man and was far from lazy. His other hobbies included cooking, computers, reading, watching movies, and traveling.

John loved socializing and had lots of friends that cared for him deeply; his smile was beautiful. His family made him the happiest of all. John was the most generous and caring man who was always there for those he loved.

John was preceded in death by his parents Bernard and Mary. He is survived by his wife Rizza; son, John III; daughters Joanna and Arlynne; and granddaughters Mikayla and Keondrya.
