He was born February 4, 1955, in Grand Rapids, Michigan to John Kelly and Mary Lou (Payette) Campbell. John was a graduate of Valley High School in Las Vegas and went to Vo-Tech for air conditioning. John enjoyed the outdoors, spending many days hiking, fishing and camping in Larkspur California. He was also a huge animal lover. He had several pet raccoons, a sparrow hawk and several dogs. He enjoyed working on anything with a motor. In his younger years he built a minibike from a lawn mower engine he found in the trash. When he was old enough to drive, he bought a 65 Mustang Fastback for $150.00 and rebuilt the engine and raced the car on weekends. He followed that up with a ‘57 Austin Healey. He was always helping friends and family with anything that needed to be repaired.
