Joanne Quinn passed away in her sleep at age 86 on November 18, 2023 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Joanne was the oldest of the 3 siblings to Violet and Earl Schilling, and survived by her much loved sisters Carol D'Amore (Merc) and Catherine Weckworth (Harry). Joanne was born on August 7, 1937 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Joanne began her life in humble beginnings, but quickly established herself in charity and philanthropy works. Joanne was a Girl Scout leader and became a Boy Scout Den Mother.
Around 1957, Joanne met Thomas Quinn and they began courting. They were married on January 17, 1959. Joanne and Thomas had 5 beautiful children: John, Christine (Gary Henderson), James (Jackie), Michelle (Rick Gaston), and William (Nancy). Joanne is loved by many Grandchildren; Kelly Bleavins, Tony (Melissa) Cardilino, Jake Henderson (James-Dean), Marlene Quinn, Ryan Baraja (Taly), Mackenzie Gaston, Phillip, Nicholas, Harrison & Greyson Quinn. Joanne was also fortunate to have been blessed with 6 Great-Grandchildren; Tyler & Kyle Bleavins, Vivianna & Sophina Cardilino, Penelope Barajas & James Quinn.
After Joanne and Thomas married, she continued her charity work through scouts, Catholic Daughter, Martha's Kitchen and Knights of Columbus. They had a huge impact on the parishes they attended in So. Milwaukee, Goleta and Indio.
Joanne spent her later days in Las Vegas, Nevada, and attended St Viator Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers the family request you donate to Martha’s Kitchen @Marthasvilliage.org or 83791 Date Avenue, Indio, Ca 92201.
A funeral service for Joanne will be held Friday, December 29, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St Viator Catholic Church, 2461 East Flamingo Road, Las Vegas, NV 89121. Following the funeral service will be a visitation from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Palm Eastern Mortuary, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123.
