Joann Dee Larson, 75, a retired U.S. Postal Service secretary, of Las Vegas, passed away Oct. 28, 2012. She was a native of Ames, Iowa. She is survived by her daughter, Connie Jo Allen, and her husband, Carl Lynn Allen, of North Las Vegas; son, Kent David Larson, and his wife, Stacy Lee Larson, of Las Vegas; younger brother, Jim Handley and his wife, Mary, of Las Vegas; younger sister, Vicki Beringer and her husband, John, of Pahrump; and sister-in-law, Joyce Handley of Las Vegas. She loved to dance and collect miniatures and loved to spend time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Eugene Larson, who, together with Joann, were owners of Norseman Corp., a river and road contracting firm in Arkansas; her parents, Frank Handley and Maxine Bernina Howell; and her older brother, Larry Handley. There will be a celebration of life at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at Palm Mortuary, 6701 N. Jones Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89131.
