Joan Lynn Kramer

Funeral services will be held at 3 pm on January 27th, 2023, at Palm Northwest Mortuary & Cemetery, with Father Jim Kasalo officiating. A Celebration of Life and reception will follow.

Joan was born in North Chicago to William and Mary Kapheim on October 2nd, 1952. She graduated from Holy Child High School in Waukegan, IL as a member of the class of 1970. Following High School, Joan attended Lake Forest College, graduating with a Bachelor's in Psychology in 1974. Later she attended the University of Arizona, where she received a Master's Degree in Counseling and Guidance in 1975. On October 25th, 1980, she married Lee Kramer in North Chicago. Throughout her life, she filled a variety of roles in the social work field, including over 12 years with Clark County Department of Family Services where she served as the training coordinator. Before her lung transplant, she was heavily involved with the Las Vegas Chapter of the Porsche Club of America, where she served on the board as the secretary. Joan was loving and compassionate and cared deeply about the people in her life. She was passionate about helping others and always saw the good in others even if they couldn't.

Joan is preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary, and her beloved husband, Lee.

Joan's pride and joy were her children, her daughter-in-law, and her beloved grandchildren. Joan is survived by her daughter Jordan and her children Brynlee and Ayden, as well as her son Justin, his wife Kathleen, and their children Charlotte and Victoria.

The family of Joan wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the transplant team at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center for giving the Kramer family five additional years with Joan. We are eternally grateful to all the physicians that supported Joan through her transplant recovery journey, including Dr. Jose Urdaneta, Dr. Sapna Bhatia, Dr. Mark Visnepolsky, Dr. Lehner, and all other members of her healthcare team.
