James Paul Lynch

Jim was born in Cleveland on May 28, 1942 during WWII. His father was a prisoner of war and his mother had a mental breakdown when he was an infant. As a result, Jim spent five years in a Catholic orphanage, Parmadale, before being taken as a foster child. He went to St. Joseph High School and later Case Western Reserve, as well as other universities. Jim did two separate tours in the Air Force and was discharged as a 1st Lieutenant Social Worker. Over his educational experience he earned three Masters degrees in Psychology, Social Work and Educational Technology. Jim moved to CA and met and married his wife, Victoria Housley, in 1978; they were happily married 43 years at the time of his death. His achievements included researching and compiling a pictorial history of Parmadale Children’s Home in Parma, OH established in 1925, which he donated for historical purposes. Jim earned a black belt in Tae Kwon Do at age 55, and played jazz saxophone and flute at numerous venues in CA and NV. He felt his biggest achievement was his only child, a daughter Carolyn Ruth, who resides in New York City. He was loved and respected by all who knew him and will be dearly missed by friends and family.
