He was born in San Francisco, California on March 9, 1943. James graduated from Lowell High School in San Francisco. After High School James was accepted into The University of San Francisco to further his education and studies.
James spent the last 9 years with his partner Belen. During their time together they enjoyed going out on the town, eating at different restaurants and movie dates. James worked as a purchasing officer for Circle Freight International for numerous years. He was a member of Desert Sportsman Pistol and Riffle Club and a strong supporter of the NRA.
James had a passion for cars and firearms, not only of course the shooting range, but the art of reloading ammunition. With is love for firearms he enjoyed participating in both the selling, presenting, and purchasing at Gun Shows. His love for animals was unmatched though he did favor the dogs! James loved to listen to The Beatles and Bob Dylan James was very proud of his time he spent in high school in ROTC and his 7 years active duty time in the U.S. Army.
He was proceeded in death by his siblings, his previous wife Joy and his son Daniel. He is survived by hisfirst wife Kathy Obenaus residing in Friday Harbor, WA., his daughter Kim, Daughter in-law Jennifer, and step-children Jerry and Rowena, his granddaughters Alyssa, Mallory, Evelyn, and Julia.
A memorial service for James will be held Wednesday, July 26, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Palm Eastern Mortuary, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123. A committal service will occur Wednesday, July 26, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Palm Eastern Cemetery, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123. A reception will occur Wednesday, July 26, 2023 from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123.
