James Sr was born in Nyack, New York to the late Marguerite and Russell Anderson on August
26, 1942. He went to school at Port Richmond High School. He married Barbara Principato on
July 10th, 1965 in Port Richmond at Grace Methodist Church. James and Barbara were married
for 58 years. James worked with the Staten Island Rapid Transit as a signal maintainer for 35
years before retiring in 2002 to help care for his twin grandchildren. James was a member of the
Bocce Club and the Sun City Anthem Entertainment Club, both of Henderson, Nevada. James
also enjoyed his Tuesday Casino days where he loved to play the nickel poker machines.
James resided in Henderson, Nevada for the last 15 years but loved to travel back to New
Jersey to spend summers at the Jersey Shore, especially Wildwood Crest, with his wife,
daughter, son in law, and grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and
friend, who will be missed by all.
James Sr is preceded in death by his brother Chris John Anderson and survived by his wife
Barbara (Principato) Anderson, his daughter Colleen Anderson-Perez and her husband Dr.
Christopher Perez, his son James Anderson Jr, his twin grandchildren Jenna and Matthew
Perez, his two brothers Tommy (and Lee) and Russell (and Lucy) Anderson, and his
brother-in-law Harry (and Barbara) Principato.
A memorial service will be held at Harmon’s Funeral Home in Staten Island, New York in a few
weeks (exact date to be announced later). Arrangements in Henderson, Nevada were made by
Palm Eastern Mortuary & Cemetery.

Anderson-Perez at 8 Takolusa Dr in Holmdel, New Jersey.
