After high school in Pennsylvania, he served in the Army from 1953-1957 as a staff sergeant. He went on to earn a Bachelors of Fine Arts from Temple University. He worked as an English teacher in Camden, New Jersey for a couple years prior to becoming a stage manager; this brought him to Las Vegas. He worked with the likes of Wayne Newton, Barbara Eden, Robert Goulet, Jimmy Durante and more at such casinos as The Dunes, The Riviera, and The Frontier. He enjoyed traveling and the Philadelphia Eagles. He was a booster for the UNLV Football Foundation.
Jack is survived by his wife, Ofelia Yenchek, of Las Vegas, NV, his sons: Jeffrey Yenchek of Berkeley, CA, Roderick Yenchek (Angie) of Las Vegas, NV, Terrence (Jill) of Great Falls, MT, and Jack (Stephanie) of Las Vegas, NV; his grandchildren: Cade, Jasmin, Nicholas, Ciara, Camden, Christopher, Kallie, Jon Paul, and Alexandra Yenchek; and step-grandchildren: Gabriela Ochoa, Jessica and Taylor Strezlec, and Sophia Miller.
A funeral service will be held on March 9, 2019 at 10:00am at St. Viator Catholic Church on 2461 E. Flamingo Road, Las Vegas, NV 89121
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, David Yenchek.
