Born and raised in Magalang, Pampanga, Philippines, she was the daughter of Marcial Manaul and Marcosa Ramos.
She is survived by her two daughters Cleotilde Reyes and Elizabeth Reyes-Ilagan, two step-daughters Aurora Reyes-Naval and Julieta Reyes-Yusilon. Her grandchildren are Kristina Marie Ilagan, Arlene Yusilon-Garcia, Cecile Yusilon-Evans, Edilyn Reyes-Santos and Roman Reyes. Her departed husband was Valeriano Victorino Reyes. Her siblings are: Ludivina Manaul-Mejia (deceased), Herminio Maniaul (deceased), Gustin Maliwat, Flora Maliwat (deceased), Carlos Maliwat and Amelia Maliwat.
In spite of a blind left eye from infancy and a very limited education, she managed to work hard from the age of 13 y/o as a seamstress which enabled her to send her two younger siblings to college, her two daughters to college plus other relatives.
Her life centered on helping and serving others. A very self-sacrificing woman, she always put others first.
Becoming a widow after 11 years of marriage, she was able to raise her children on her own through her resourcefulness and business-mindedness.
She was a great mother, excellent cook, and loved to play Bingo. She helped raise her grandchild Kristina until she suffered a stroke in 2008. Since then, she was a resident of Marquis Plaza Regency and later of Silver Ridge Healthcare, in Las Vegas. She was cremated on March 28, 2019.
Celebration of Life will be conducted at 12 noon, April 27, 2019, at Palm Southwest Mortuary, 7979 West Warm Springs Road, Las Vegas, NV, 89113. Officiant will be Pastoral Associate Greg Sinclair.
