Hildene “Denie” Holan, 80, of Las Vegas, Nevada, suddenly and peacefully passed away at her home on May 2nd, 2024. Hildene was born in Chicago, Illinois on October 25th, 1943, to Allan and Julia King. Raised in Chicago, she attended Senn High School, University of Illinois, became a lab tech at Cook County Hospital, worked in family businesses, and later married David Holan with whom she shares 2 children: Jodi Holan and Scott Holan. Denie moved to Las Vegas and happily called it home for nearly 25 years, as she shared a life alongside her mother, and sister, Arlene, a.k.a. “The Golden Girls”. Denie is preceded in death by both her parents, Allan and Julia King, and more recently, her sister, Arlene King.
Denie is survived by her daughter and best friend, Jodi (Stephon Freides), her son, Scott (Kristen Veum), and grandchildren Julia and Joshua. She is also survived by her dear brother, Harvey King (Barbara) and baby sister, Shari Jacobs (Howard Klein). Denie always said her greatest and most special birthday gift was her sister, Shari, as they shared the same birthday 7 years apart. Denie was rooted in the love of her family and words cannot describe how big her heart was. She will be sorely missed by her entire family – including many nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends. As she wished, details for a joint memorial dedication and celebration of life for Hildene “Denie” Holan and Arlene H. King will be announced soon.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.palmeastern.com for the family.
