Harvey Allen Ohriner

Dr. Harvey Ohriner, 76, of Las Vegas, Nevada passed away on May 31, 2022 peacefully with his family by his side. He was born May 23, 1946 to Bernard and Dorothy Ohriner in Brooklyn, New York. Dr. Ohriner is survived by his beloved wife, Robin and son Justin and (predeceased) son John.

Dr. Ohriner served the Las Vegas community for more than 50 years and gained much recognition for his lifetime achievements as an eye care doctor, plus an appointment to the Nevada State Board of Optometry for 2 terms. He was always on the cutting edge of technology to deliver the finest eye care experience to his patients.

Dr. Ohriner grew up in New York and moved to Las Vegas with his family. He attended Nevada Southern University, now known as UNLV, and then attended Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. After graduation, he opened his practice in 1971. He enjoyed seeing patients and his patients loved his zest for conversation, his mastery of many subjects and most of all the care he provided them.

His humble beginnings working as a Culinary Union worker on the Las Vegas Strip while putting himself through college and optometry school gave him the foundation for the success he earned throughout his career.

Dr. Ohriner loved spending time with his family, traveling, cooking and relaxing in Montana.

He will be greatly missed by family, friends, doctors, staff and many Las Vegas patients.
