Glenn Everett Thompson

Glenn Everett Thompson was born on May 10th 1945, as an only child, to the late couple Elliott Thompson and Roena Napier, in Oakland, California. Glenn was raised in the bay area and graduated from Oakland High School. After attending Texas Southern University, Glenn returned to the Bay Area and propelled his self-confidence and charisma into a career of sales and marketing with Levi Strauss. Glenn satisfied his passion for dining, entertainment, and the joy of living by joining the sales team of Southern Wine and Spirits. He was legendary in the entertainment life of the Bay Area, and would later take his skills, and charisma to become an entrepreneur.

In 1994, Glenn began a new chapter of his life in Las Vegas, Nevada with the love of his life, his soul mate, Cynthia Thompson, whom he affectionately called ‘Cyn’. Referred to lovingly by many names, by many people, Cynthia called Glenn ‘Sweetie’. Glenn was loved, appreciated and respected by his beautiful wife. While in Las Vegas, Glenn became an active, enlightened, and dedicated member of the 100 Black Men Organization, of the 100 Black Men Incorporated, Las Vegas Chapter. He held strongly to his belief that mentoring young people would positively impact their sense of value, purpose, and success in life. His involvement in the development of youth and young adults paralleled his belief in the growth and support of African- American communities and businesses.

Wherever his travels took him, Glenn never met a stranger. Glenn Everett Thompson had an enthusiasm and pleasure for life that was contagious. His fun sense of humor, and warm-hearted gregarious laughter, had the ability to light up a room. Glenn was a world class individual, and truly lived life by his own rules. Glenn wholeheartedly valued, honored and cherished his family and the brotherhood of his “TRUE BLUE HOMIES.”

Glenn joined our heavenly place and was received by his ancestors on January 10, 2019.

He leaves behind his wife Cynthia; (and cherished puppy, Paloma); two sisters-in-law; three nieces; three nephews; four cousins; and a host of extended family and close friends that forever made a mark on his life.

Glenn’s legacy will forever be etched in our hearts and minds for a lifetime.
