George E. Odom, Jr., 87, passed away February 4, 20l5 in Las Vegas, Nv. He was born April 20, 1927 in Raywood, Tx. He spent his early years in the Spurger-Daisetta area before settling in Las Vegas in 1963. He retired from The City Of Las Vegas and U.S. Navy Sea Bees. He was a lifelong member of American Legion and VFW. One of his greatest joys was helping Santa at Christmas with his fluffy white natural beard. He is survived by daughter Cindy Castille and son Lonnie Odom; grandchildren Wendy Bennett and KC Odom; great grandchildren Chaye Dailey, Kayli Bennett and Kyle Bennett; sister Ethel Davis; brothers Jimmie Odom, Melvin Odom; numerous nieces and nephews and special friend Kathi Riley. He was preceded in death by parents George E. Odom, Sr. and Effie (Kirkland) Odom; wives Frances (Palermo) Coburn and Edna Odom; brothers Walder Edward Odom and Martin Odom. A Memorial service will be held, at a later date, in Town Bluff, TX with interment at National Cemetery in Henderson, NV.
