George Alan Koontz, age 68, of Las Vegas, Nevada passed away on Wednesday March 4, 2020. George was born April 27, 1951 in Decatur, Illinois. George was a Proud 16 year Member & Retiree of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 525.
George is survived by:
Siblings: Terry Koontz of Decatur, IL., Sandra Koontz-Bogle of Decatur, IL., Robert Doug Stearns of Orlando, FL., Timothy Scott Stearns of Mt. Zion, IL. & James Patrick Stearns of Decatur, IL.
Children: Terry Alan Koontz-Decamp of Coplay, PA., Michelle Lee Koontz-Barham of Springfield, IL. & Wesley Alan Koontz Sr. of Las Vegas, NV.
Grandchildren: Michel Grimes, Duane Barham II, Isiah Barham Sr., Breeanna Koontz, Michelle Koontz, Joseph Koontz, Wesley Koontz Jr. & Skyelyn Pierce
Great Grandchildren: Presley Trexler, Alaric Arnold & Isiah "IJ" Barham Jr.
George was also survived by his Aunt Carol Black and Uncle Robert Black of Pahrump, NV & many Cousins, Nephews & Nieces.
George is preceded in death by his Father Airforce SSgt. Lawrence Sandy Koontz, Mother Patricia Louise Mahrol-Stearns & Step-Father Robert Stearns.
A visitation for George will be held Friday, March 27, 2020 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Palm Southwest Mortuary, 7979 W.Warm Springs Rd., Las Vegas, NV 89113. A visitation will occur Saturday, March 28, 2020 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 7979 W.Warm Springs Rd., Las Vegas, NV 89113. A funeral service will occur Saturday, March 28, 2020 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 7979 W.Warm Springs Rd., Las Vegas, NV 89113. A committal service will occur Saturday, March 28, 2020 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Palm Eastern Cemetery, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123. A burial will occur at Palm Mortuary - Eastern, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, Nevada 89123.
Following burial services,There will be a Celebration of Life held at Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 525 Hall, 760 N. Lamb Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89110. Food and beverages will be provided for those wanting to attend.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the Koontz Family, 696 Homewillow Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89123. The family of George Koontz wishes to thank all of the family and friends that have shown support during this difficult time. They would also like to give a special thanks to the Brothers and Sisters of UA Local 525 for donating use of the Hall for the Celebration of Life.
