Survived by his loving wife of 53 years, two wonderful daughters and son-in-laws, ten of the best grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Our loved one, Jeff, came from a family of well drillers. From a fairly young age he would work alongside his father on weekends and summers to dig both water and oil wells. It was hard work setting the pumps, lifting the cables and spending hours at the wells, that he did with no pay, but Jeff was happy to help. As a family, we want to raise $15,000 to provide a Deep Water Well in a community that has a need for a clean water source.
Throughout his life Jeff helped countless individuals with whatever project they needed. He was good at woodworking, plumbing, electrical, auto and pretty much anything that could be fixed. (I don't remember our family ever hiring a repair person as Jeff could do it all.) He went on to have a distinguished military career but his true passion was helping. It was his great joy to share his knowledge and time in order to meet the needs of someone else. Jeff had an intelligent mind and in retirement enjoyed being a master sleuth tracing family genealogy when we weren't cruising several times a year. His spiritual gifts of generosity and service, combined with his history of digging water wells, led us to want to partner with World Vision. In recent years God had put this plan on my heart and I had shared it with Jeff. I'm happy that he knew about it, although he was humble, so did not feel it necessary to be about him.
He would be delighted to know that one well can provide 2,800 gallons of safe, life-sustaining water every day for over 300 people! Please consider a donation to this charity in lieu of flowers or other gifts in his memory. Together we can provide a source of hope, both physically and spiritually, to an entire community.
A visitation for Jeff will be held Tuesday, December 14, 2021 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM at Palm Eastern Mortuary, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, December 14, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123.
